Anthony Frevelleti has lived just outside of Florence, Italy for the last 12-years. His marketing skills have helped build the brand awareness for wineries througout Tuscany.
Anthony’s love for wine is rooted in the memories of working with his father James Freveletti Senior who was not a professional winemaker but extremely passionate about all things wine. Every summer as a young boy was spent in the vineyard, learning only about the agricultural product and its relationship with the soil.
“As a kid I was taught only the agriculture part of wine and there were no such things as chemical treatments in my world. My dad talked of having only great respect for the soil and all things that inhabit it, like insect farmers and the special funghi that makes the soil so healthy”. - Anthony
The soil is the foundation we build the wine from, what makes up your foundation will reveal who your wine is. Another life lesson found through wine!
Some years later as Anthony got a bit older, his Dad began to introduce him to his own palate , tasting the results of what they got from the soil they worked and grapes they farmed. This exploration led to a journey of palate awareness that was to be extenuated by being introduced to his stepfather‘s wine cellar. A wine cellar that was stocked, almost entirely, with French and Italian wines from 1950 through 1980.
The Colle Bereto estate and vineyard is located outside of Radda in Chianti; this is the heart of the Chianti Classico region. Colle Bereto is a small, family owned operation producing exceptional organic wine.
The elegant vineyards of the Borgo open like a "book" on the axis of the valley bottom with a south-west orientation and enjoy an ideal exposure and altitude excursion, between 450 and 500 meters above sea level.
The soil, characterized by Galestro, Alberese and an important rocky substrate, is an ideal soil for the production of excellent Sangiovese, as well as other varieties among which Pinot Nero and Merlot stand out , vines perfectly at ease in this territory.
Colle Bereto Estate
The 60 hectares of land of the estate, of which 17 are dedicated to vines, are wisely divided in order to obtain excellence in the quality of the wine produced. Hence the Sangiovese, the “noble grape” of this area, is found in the Chianti Classico, in the Chianti Classico Riserva and in the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, while the Pinot Nero and Merlot are best expressed in Il Cenno and Il Tocco respectively.
Pinot Noir is also the protagonist of the production of the Colle B classic method sparkling wine which, thanks to a well-defined and absolutely recognizable identity, has managed in a short time to carve out a place of honor among sparkling wine enthusiasts.
